Greenhouse Gas Analyzer

Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

As greenhouse gas emissions from human activities increase, more and more greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere, leading to warming the climate, and changing on-land and ocean weather patterns.

The ability to measure and track greenhouse gas emissions provides a global platform for understanding their role in climate change and also drafts a possible roadmap for changing human behavior to protect the planet.

Picarro Solution

Picarro is the leading provider of enhanced Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) analytical solutions, with more than 25 years in business, dedicated to measuring high-precision greenhouse gases and stable isotopes to advance environmental research, ensure regulatory compliance, and create safer workplaces and communities.

Picarro offers monitoring of Methane CH4 (Methane), CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), N2O (Nitrous Oxide), CO (Carbon monoxide) [Including δ13C & δ18O] and NH3 (Ammonia), etc.

G2301 Gas Concentration Analyzer

The Picarro G2301 Gas Concentration Analyzer provides simultaneous and precise measurement of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) at parts-per-billion (ppb) level, and water (H2O) vapor at parts-per-million (ppm) sensitivity with negligible drift for atmospheric science, air quality and emissions quantification.

Key Feature
  • Simultaneous and continuous measurement of three atmospheric trace gases

  • ppb sensitivity, precision, and accuracy with exceptionally low drift

  • Compliant with World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) international ambient atmospheric monitoring requirements

  • Water correction automatically reports dry gas mole fractions

  • Precision at 5 sec is < 70 ppb and < 25 ppb for CO2 and 5 min is < 0.5 ppb and < 0.22 ppb for CH4

  • Max. drift at standard temperature and pressure over 24 hr is < 120 ppb (CO2) and < 1 ppb (CH4)

    PI2103 Gas Concentration Analyzer

The Picarro PI2103 Gas Concentration Analyzer delivers ultra-precise and stable measurements of ammonia (NH3) with a parts-per-trillion (ppt) lower limit of detection (LOD) and negligible drift. It is the ideal solution for urban and atmospheric air quality monitoring, studies of particulate matter formation, livestock emission quantification, vehicle emission quantification, indoor air quality and other applications. An additional carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement can be used for surrogate validation, simplifying and replacing the need for complex calibration procedures requiring difficult-to-use standards.

    Key Feature
  • Fast, continuous and real-time measurements

  • Superb sensitivity, precision and accuracy with virtually no drift

  • Month-long stability for infrequent calibration

  • Measurements of water for correction and CO2 for validation

  • Precision at 5 min is 0.30 ppb

  • Maximum drift over one month is ±0.50 ppb at 25 °C and 760 Torr

    G2201-i Isotopic Analyzer

The Picarro G2201-i Isotope Analyzer combines capabilities of two Picarro δ13C carbon isotope instruments for CO2 and CH4 into a single instrument. The dual-purpose analyzer brings simplicity and speed to research. Its small size and robustness make it easy to transport to the field, where immediate results allow researchers to change course on-the-fly and achieve optimal results from limited-time field campaigns.

    Key Feature
  • Only field-deployable analyzer in market for simultaneous high-precision δ13C measurements of CO2 and CH4

  • Three measurement modes: CO2 only, CH4 only and CO2 & CH4 combined; in all modes, H2O is measured

  • Excellent precision at a fraction of Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) operating cost due to less calibration, less maintenance and no consumables

  • Can be paired with a variety of peripherals to extend and expand functionality

Spectronus : Trace Greenhouse Gas & Isotope

Ecotech SpectronusTM is the only high accuracy multispecies trace greenhouse gas and isotope analyser based on Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. FTIR is a method that measures the absorption of infrared radiation by gases over a broad wavelength range.

As the only FTIR-spectroscopy-based in the globe analyzer that measure atmospheric multispecies greenhouse gases, trace gases and isotopes, Spectronus has garnered a reputation as the only one capable of meeting World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) standard for measured species.

In 2019, Spectronus was approved by the Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) as a compliant and highly precise technique for measuring greenhouse gases within its network of greenhouse gases measuring stations across Europe.
