Visibility Sensor / Nephelometer

The Met One Model 6400 Visibility Sensor is designed to monitor visibility conditions over a range of 6-80000m. The Model 6400 includes both digital and relay outputs. Digital RS232 output at 300...38'400 Baud can be used to indicate the present visibility, provide diagnostic information, and allow for access to the configuration and calibration options. The SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) relay with configurable pull-in and drop-out set points is able to create signals to a VMS (Variable Message Sign) or other optional user system.

Nephelometer is an important instrument in a variety of air monitoring applications. Many organizations throughout the world including environmental protection agencies, meteorological agencies, universities, airports, and federal, state and local governments use nephelometers everyday in a variety of ways. The Ecotech Aurora series of nephelometers are the broadest and most cost-effective nephelometer range on the market.

Aurora NE-100 is easy to use and maintain. It delivers affordable excellence for aerosol light scattering, visibility and particulate monitoring. It uses a single wavelength for scattering coefficient visibility measurements at one of three user-specified wavelengths.

Aurora NE-300 contributes to measurement by reporting both the integrated full and backscatter coefficients at 3 wavelengths.

Aurora NE-400 Polar is a three-wavelength integrating nephelometer and the flagship of the Aurora NE series. It can measure light scattering in up to 18 user-selectable angular sectors, using varied backscatter shutter positioning to help determine the phase function of aerosols and bring our climate research and modelling projects to life with precision data.
